“A grim underestimation”

Films: Ultraman Taiga the Movie: New Generation Climax (2020)

Alias: Gurimuto

Type: Alien

Location: Eldritch Location/Civilized Area

Height/Weight: About 70 meters and 70,000 metric tons.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: It just wouldn't be another year without at least one outing from the long-lived Ultraman series! And this time, we bring to you the thrilling conclusion of whatever stunts the rogue Ultraman Tregear was pulling. It will be a day where the forces of light are truly pitted against that of darkness.

History: In the time before time, there were the primordial Gods of chaos, among them Grimdo. This monster was sealed away in Planet Borges, but much later down the line, someone took an interest. That being Ultraman Tregear, who had just betrayed his partner Ultraman Taro. Tregear sealed all of the chaos Gods within his Color Timer, taking great strides to keep them locked up for his own personal gain. But after a fight with the other Ultras, Tregear ends up having his Color Timer damaged, allowing Grimdo its freedom. Tregear takes it in stride, so long as Taro suffers. And precisely that happens, with poor Taro getting possessed by the evil kaiju. Bad news for the hero's son, Ultraman Taiga. And really, the whole world in general.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: After some conflict and through the power of familial bonds, Taiga is able to free Taro from Grimdo's grasp. However, Tregear, overcome with despair at having lost so many times, allows himself to be absorbed by the beast. When the empowered Grimdo proves too much for our heroes, they fuse with Taiga to become Ultraman Reiga, who uses his Reiga Ultimate Blaster to obliterate both the alien and Tregear at the same time. The Earth is saved!

Powers/Abilities: Grimdo can possess others, as well as create portals, extra giant limbs from said portals, turn into a puff of darkness to speed by, absorb willing beings for a power/size increase, and tank some of the most powerful attacks. It also has a sonic roar known as the Grim Howling, can fire Grim Bolts from its back spikes, and can fire the Grim Ray from its main eye (and smaller rays from summoned eyes).

Weakness: Beings of equal or greater power. Enough damage can separate it from its host.

Scariness Factor: 4-To some extent, Grimdo feels like an attempt to one-up Zaigorg, right down to the color scheme. But that doesn't make it a weak kaiju. Grimdo is quite unnerving, and doubly so for actually possessing an Ultraman. Its durability and the unnerving implications it brings to this galaxy's past also help.

Trivia: -Grimdo was designed by Masayuki Gotoh, who's known more for creating the looks of some of the more modern Ultramen instead of the kaiju.

-This film would have been released in March 2020, but it had to be postponed to August due to COVID-19.

Not THAT kind of climax! Pervert!

Tregear is THE STORM THAT IS APROAAAACHING!

Darkness all over this bitch!
Funny how the monster of darkness' first priority is to light it all up!

The Ultras feel stupid for questioning the chest-mouth now.

World of Light is looking a bit more unusual now.

He has learned that stairs are an evolution of ladders!

"CURSE YOU, CLICHE BEAM-DEATH!"
